Moon Dances
Moon Dances is a community ritual that will take place on the New and Full Moon throughout the spring/summer months. We will gather to move with the energy of the moon and the ways that it impacts us. Using dance and creative movement, we will move through the processes of growth, release, and integration, and find ways to nourish our bodies through movement and connection.
Moon Dance events will include a grounding meditation, group check-in, warm-up, creative movement exploration around specific themes (individually, in pairs, or as a group), verbal reflection, and a group movement ritual to end. Some other things we might use are: props to facilitate movement experiences, vocalizing, music or rhythmical group dances, and group discussions.
Please don’t worry if you’re not a dancer! These groups are spaces for you to move your body in whatever way feels good and nourishing to you. We won’t be learning choreography or mastering any steps, just tuning into our embodied creative impulses and following the flow of our bodies.
